I'm used to reviewing Chris Shipley as Conferenza's editor. She's usually on the stage at DEMO or DEMOmobile and I'm usually typing from the third row. In that aspect, Conferenza thought highly enough of her to name her our Producer of the Year for 2003.
Now, I'm having the wonderful opportunity to work alongside her as marketing consultant to her new gig, with a great new gang of professionals called Guidewire Group (url coming soon to a browser near you), who are producing a two-day event called BlogOn, which is about the business of social media. Being held at UC Berkely it has many of blogging's superstars like Ross Mayfied, David Sifry , JD Lasica , Dan Gillmore , Doc Serles /and the inimicable Buzz Bruggeman . But it also features some of the sharper investment business minds, like Mayfield's Allen Morgan , Tony Perkins who started both AlwaysOn and Red Herring and Marc Pinkus , founder and CEO of Tribe Networks, Inc., and lots more.
There's a boot camp for executive neophytes, and keeping with Shipley's trademark as executive producer of the DEMO conferences, there will be about 15 companies making presentations and facing instant feedback from the audience and Guidewire analysts.
It's only $495 for the main session, a lot cheaper if you're a recognized blogger and if you subscribe to Conferenza, you can get an extra $50 off. Email me for details.
