Carol Shellhorn-Massey was my client at a company called Mondosoft for a short while last year. I always liked her. She was courteous and smart, strikingly attactive and athletic. I liked her a lot.
A friend just called to inform me that she was vacationing at Phuket with her husband and mother when the tsunami hit. She was following her husband up a fire escape as the flood roared in. When he turned around, she wasn't there--only rushing water. After searching for a week, her husband has returned home, assuming the situation is hopeless. Her mother has determined to keep searching.
She was 38.
It is hard to believe Carol is really gone. Yes, she and her husband were together when the tsunami hit. She is now with her Mother, who died when Carol was still in college at Wake Forest University.
She is missed by so many friends who are confused, upset and still in shock.

I am sorry for the error in my original report. It is not Carol's mother, but her brother,
Dr. Doug Shellhorn, who is continuing the search.

Carol was my roommate at St. Mary's when we were seniors in high school. She was always so friendly and nice. It is sad to think of her not in this world any more. She will be missed.
